Post-Graduate Fellowships

2003

Knee Surgery and Arthroplasty Fellowship
Brigham and Women’s Hospital
Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Program
Boston, USA

Dr T Thornhill, Dr R D Scott, Dr T Minas

This fellowship provided excellent exposure to leading knee surgeons with an enormous combined experience. Drs Scott and Thornhill provided me with extensive clinical exposure to primary and revision knee arthroplasty, as well as unicompartmental arthroplasty. Dr Minas is a pioneer in biological cartilage repair. His practice encompasses the spectrum of management of knee arthritis in the young patient.

The academic and research facilities of the Harvard Orthopaedic Program are extensive and I took the opportunity to undertake several research projects during my fellowship.

2004

Shoulder Surgery Fellowship
Ravenscourt Park Hospital
Hammersmith NHS Trust
London, UK

Mr R Emery, Mr A Wallace

Ravenscourt Park is an elective orthopaedic hospital in West London. Mr Wallace is primarily an arthroscopic surgeon, whilst Mr Emery performs both arthroscopic and open shoulder surgery. This combination afforded me an extensive and balanced exposure to all facets of shoulder surgery. Both surgeons are active academically, and in conjunction with Charing Cross Hospital and the Imperial College I was able to take part in both clinical and basic science research projects.
